Though rumors had been circulating over the past year that DMX was working with Swizz Beatz on a new record, there was no confirmation of their legitimacy until late last week.
In a new interview between Fox 5 New York, Rap Mogul Darin "Dee" Dean, and DMX’s Manager Craig Broadhead – Dee revealed that the upcoming record had been recorded earlier in Nashville, Tennessee. Broadhead recounted a conversation he had with DMX during the early moments of the coronavirus pandemic, recalling X telling him, “We can’t get stuck in New York… Let’s go start the album” before heading to Nashville. “This album right here? It’s special” Dee told Fox 5. “This is probably one of his great albums.”
Though things still seem to be up in the air regarding the album’s eventual release date, it was also earlier reported that a DMX documentary was in the works for an HBO Max release. Many fans may be anxiously awaiting these projects, but more details have yet to be revealed at this time.
