anees has become one of my personal favorite artists in 2021 and I’d highly recommend everyone to dive into his full catalog of uplifting, almost enlightening singles if you haven't before. The independent singer/rapper from the Washington D.C. area is a master at building momentum with his new releases through TikTok and Instagram Reels. anees draws listeners in with his emotive vocal tone, and keeps them around with his catchy hooks – with "what lovers do" being no exception.

I’m relieved I no longer have to go to his socials to hear a teaser of “what lovers do” and can fully listen to it on streaming services now. He really doesn't miss with every release, and each new track becomes my new favorite. anees is one of the most down to earth guys out there and his career is on an upward trajectory.
