DaBaby caused controversy surrounding his performance at Rolling Loud Festival when he made some offensive comments during his set. In the video that has been circling the Internet, the rapper is heard encouraging audience members to use their flashlights. However, he only encouraged audience members who “didn’t show up with HIV/AIDS or other STDs that’ll make you die in 2-3 weeks.” He further added that only male members of the crowd who didn’t “suck a n**** d*ck in the parking lot” should put up their flashlights as well.

Following these comments, Twitter was swarming with Tweets regarding DaBaby’s statements. One Tweet from @therealCANDIACE can be shown below calling DaBaby to explain himself and the words he used on stage.

The responses that DaBaby received on Twitter led him to respond via Instagram; he shared a video in which he explains, “I wasn’t going on no rant, it was a call to action. That’s what that’s called because I’m a live performer. I’m the best live performer. You interact with your fans, you get what I’m saying? All the lights went up – gay or straight. You wanna’ know why? Because even my gay fans don’t get f*cking aids. Stupid ass n******. They don’t got aids. My gay fans, they take care of themselves – they ain’t no nasty n***** gays. They ain’t no junkies.”

He then continued to accuse audience members of “bringing negative attention and energy upon themselves” and told them to “shut the f*ck up.”
