Donald Glover debuted the first teaser of the anticipated and long-awaited third season of Atlanta. While there was no release date mentioned and few clues, it is enough to propel the anticipation for the new season.
Glover wished his fans a happy Halloween on Twitter with a link to “Gilga,” which takes them to a site that hosts the minute-long clip. At the time the video was hidden with a note saying, “while under construction, Gilga is a 'nite-site' operational hours are 8 p.m.-3 a.m." The clip features a set of eerie shots of a variety of European cities, from destroyed hotels, to a beautiful aesthetic, and even an abandoned auditorium. These scenes are voiced by Sun Ra’s 1970 spoken jazz composition, “It's After the End of the World.”
It’s concluded with a shot of star, Brian Tyree Henry (known as rapper Paper Boi) sitting at a table with a symmetrical shot of two employees with their back to him and Paper Boi staring deeply into the camera. The trailer fits the often cryptic show and sets the tone for what should be an interesting third season.
