Making his return with his second solo release, Griff Clawson drops his introspective, atmospheric single "2Lovely." We last touched base with Clawson in an interview, after making his 2020 solo debut, pivoting from the success he's had as a featured artist in the electronic space with many major acts.
In "2Lovely," the SoCal singer/songwriter/producer combines his talents for another high quality track, this time in the form of a ballad. Mixing elements of minimalistic production, formant shifted vocals, and a light touch of electronic synthesis, Clawson creates an emotional moment in time, touching on the peak of a relationship, worrying that as good as a relationship may be currently, it may not last forever. If there's one thing this pandemic has attributed to, it's the self-analyzing of where we are at with ourselves and others. Although a sad take on relationships, I think many people will resonate with this, given the shift of how we are currently able to meet new people and sustain current relationships. Let this single act as a cautionary tale to enjoy the moment, and be thankful for what we have, because nothing is guaranteed.
