In the midst of the aftermath of yet another devastating earthquake in Haiti, Lil Baby and Jackboy have pledged to build a hospital and rally other rappers to offer support. Jackboy, born in Haiti, traveled there to see the effects of the natural disaster in person. The trip impacted him greatly, and led to a call for action on Instagram.
“I just walked through a hospital in Haiti & all the patients are sleeping outside I personally handed every single last 1 of them a envelope full of money but fr fr I feel like that ain’t enough...who want to go half with me & get a hospital build it’s not really that much especially if we using US dollars.”
Lil Baby, who last year donated $150,000 to his high school to establish the My Turn Scholarship fund, took up Jackboy’s offer. Jackboy also called on Future, who is set to put on a Haiti benefit concert in Miami, to donate half of the earnings from the event to aid in relief efforts. The event is scheduled to be at Oasis Wynwood in Miami at 7:00 p.m. ET tonight (September 3rd), with guest appearances expected from Lil Uzi Vert and others.
