There is something about alternative RnB that is hard to resist. The definition of an approachable and easy-going genre, alt-rnb as a whole is sometimes all you need to turn your luck around. Spreading the warmth and pleasures of letting your hair down, Malcolm Todd shares his latest single, “New Friends.”
Sharing the stage with Pensylvania’s, rapper and producer, Eem Triplin, Malcolm offers a rather mystifying picture. Bordered by the bright and buoyant instrumentation and fortified by Eem’s clever verses, it is practically impossible to deny “New Friends” infectious energy. Speaking on the free-flowing process that brought this single to life, he shares the following: “‘New Friends’ is me reverting back to not overthinking when I make music just be cool and finish a song it helps that I made it with Eem Triplin who’s one of the coolest out there.”
Ever willing to give us more, “New Friends” also kicks off the short wait for his upcoming project Sweet Boy Pt 2, due March 8th.
