It's not often I cover an artist multiple times on the same platform, but simply put, Nick Folwarczny is special. Not only is he from the same home state as me (Ohio), but his work feels like one of the most unique entry points to the next wave of folk music. His production style contains a multitude of layers and an execution in sound design that feels fit for a blockbuster movie.
This time around I asked Nick to share a few words himself about how he would describe his music to someone, and he went on to say, "I’d say it’s alternative/folk. I love putting my own little spin on certain aspects of the genre and hiding some stuff in the production that you might not necessarily notice but it wouldn’t be my song without it."
"I'll Be Gone" in particular was Nick shedding light on a situation where he was talking to a girl, and after he left home on a trip to LA, she started to lose interest in him. It is an ode to those who deserve to bask in their own self-worth, and is yet another smash from Mr. Folwarczny.
And while this track will be on repeat for weeks to come, I can assure you, that you will love what's coming next. Stay tuned for his journey, and listen to "I'll Be Gone" in the meantime below:
