I came across Chicago’s up and coming, SONNY, last year on his self-titled project and I have been hooked on his music since. His recent song, “RISKY,” showcases his raspy and monotonous delivery over this ominous beat, which puts him in a unique lane that makes me electrified for what is next in his career.

I also had the privilege of seeing him open for Midwxst and Dro Kenji on their stop in Chicago, and it confirmed even more that he has the energy and charisma to do big things. Not only is the music good, but so is the aesthetic. “RISKY” is accompanied by visuals directed by Lonewolf, featuring the exact vibes you picture when listening – dark and reckless. 

Chicago continues to birth superstars and you shouldn’t be surprised if SONNY is the next artist to blossom to superstar status in the next few months.
