Though announced last year, there are still few things that are generating as much hype as the upcoming collaboration between Kanye West and Gap. As hypebeasts carefully eye their mom’s credit cards, anxious for news about the upcoming apparel, today their patience was rewarded with a surprise release of a new Yeezy Gap jacket. The piece in question is a recycled blue nylon puffer jacket featuring a relaxed fit, a near-seamless design, and a $200 price tag.
Though reported by some outlets to have sold out, the “Round Jacket” seems to be still available to pre-order now – though confirmed orders will not be shipping until this fall. The hype surrounding this release is certainly good news for Kanye West, whose Gap collaboration was valued to be worth around $970 million dollars by Bloomberg. While Gap looks to draw in long-term customers, and Kanye West looks for infrastructure to make his clothing available and accessible, this jacket release is certainly proving that the two may be making some serious money during their 10-year agreement. With this year’s previous release of various Yeezy Foam RNNR’s, it seems likely that the first drop will happen sooner than previously thought.
Little did we know, Kanye teased the product launch a few days ago without anyone suspecting a thing...
