Whether you were sitting on the couch watching the YouTube Livestream, scrolling through TikTok, or walking through Coachella Valley itself, you heard about the best performances at Coachella Weekend One.

After a two-year hiatus, the music festival returned to Indio, California with an iconic lineup. The three headliners for both weekends include Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, and Swedish House Mafia x The Weeknd. During this four-day break between weekends one and two, Sheesh is here to share our favorite performances from weekend one.

Harry Styles ended night one by singing two new songs from his anticipated third solo album, Harry’s Home. The new songs “Boyfriends” and “Late Night Talking” were performed but not officially released by Styles while he danced around the stage in a disco ball-like jumpsuit. Styles brought Shania Twain to sing “Man, I Feel Like a Woman” and “You’re Still The One.”

Phoebe Bridgers also performed on the first day in her iconic skeleton uniform, which she used forms of during her 2020 album Punisher era. Bridgers brought out Arlo Parks, performing solo on day two, to sing duets of “Graceland Too” and “I Know the End.”

Doja Cat was one of the last to perform for weekend one but did not disappoint. She performed some iconic hits like “Tia Tamera,” “Get Into It (Yuh),” and “You Right.” Doja’s set included Tyga and Rico Nasty performances, outfit changes, and lots of dancing.

Isaiah Rashad took his time on stage to address his alleged sex tape, which leaked online in February. Rashad’s set began with different reactions to the video and some of the backlash he received online. A voice took over the video saying, “When his video leaked, his streams and everything went up. He’s on the charts now.” Rashad’s set mainly consisted of music from his 2021 album The House is Burning.

88rising’s Head in the Clouds set included NIKI, Warren Hue, and Rich Brian. NIKI and Rich Brian became the first female and male Indonesian musicians to perform at Coachella. 88rising brought out K-pop girl group 2NE1, who performed together for the first time since 2015.

Maggie Rodgers made her Coachella return on Sunday with her well-known songs like “Alaska,” “Fallingwater,” and a rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody.” She closed her set with her recent single “That’s Where I Am” from her upcoming album, Surrender, on July 29th.

Weekend One did not disappoint, and we at Sheesh are excited to see what happens over Weekend Two with all of the surprises Coachella brings.
