Independent recording artist, Jordan Solomon (J Solo), gets emotional on his track "800 Days." Stripped down from his usual upbeat style, the Toronto native rapper/singer used passion to capture his audience. "800 Days" shows Solomon’s versatility, pouring heart and soul into a short confession for his hypothetical crush.
“Cause oh you know i think about the days, back when you was mine
And I can't lie lately I been feeling so different inside
And i don't know if i could love for the rest of my life
Cause I'm going to think about your girl til the day that
The day that I die”
This track shows how diverse Solomon’s skillset can be when given the chance. As opposed to his signature 808s and elegant use of autotune, this track plays out a simple acoustic guitar - showing how both stripped and vulnerable music can be a testament for an artist’s talent. Although Solomon’s post-production still produces quality tracks, this new side of the singer shows why he is one to watch. Solomon later followed with the single, “310,” before hinting at a possible album in the future - albeit, it could be far off.
