While performing “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” on Saturday Night Live over the weekend, Lil Nas X had a slight wardrobe malfunction. Halfway through his performance on SNL season 46 finale, the 22-year-old singer was pole dancing and accidentally teared his black leather pants with flames. Following the performance, he tweeted, “NOT MY PANTS RIPPED ON LIVE TV. OMFG NO.” He wanted to show off his pole dancing routine so badly: he said, “this is what I get lmaoo.”

He continued to perform even after his pants ripped – however, he was clearly caught off guard by the incident. The wardrobe malfunction led to a surprised look by Lil Nas X and followed it up by grabbing his crotch to cover up the tear for the remainder of the performance.

Lil Nas X released “Montero” on March 26th with a video that generated quite a bit of controversy. This video led to a spoof on SNL, which was a parody of Lil Nas X pole dancing to hell and giving Satan a lap dance. He also performed a second song on SNL, his latest release, “Sun Goes Down,” during which he dressed in an all-white suit with fake bloody bullet holes.
