Welcome to my 11th edition of “Producer Picks” where I highlight the producers who helped create some of my favorite songs or projects of the week. This week, there is a wide variety from Luh Tyler to Karri. Here are my producer picks below:
Fresh out of the Sunshine State, the rising star, Luh Tyler has gifted us with his highly anticipated debut album, My Vision: Reloaded. This masterpiece is a musical feast, featuring collaborations with some of Florida's hottest up-and-comers, Trapland Pat, Wizz Havin, and SCY Jimm. Among the standout tracks are the adrenaline-fueled "Back Flippin" and the infectious "Can't Move Wrong with Tapekid (feat. Trapland Pat)," both of which were masterfully produced by Xair. This young beatmaker has been making waves in the Florida music scene, teaming up with talents like DaeDalTM and SCY Jimm, and is sure to continue pushing the boundaries of the burgeoning Florida music scene.
I have been following Sammy Haig’s career since his first placement with Grimm Lynn, and his progression has been remarkable. He is one of the most talented trumpet players in the hip-hop scene right now, and now he has a placement not many can say they have which is with Tyler, The Creator on “Legendary,” which is the opening track to DJ Drama’s album, I’M REALLY LIKE THAT. It is a perfect way to kick off the project, and reminds me of a track off of Tyler’s recent album, Call Me If You Get Lost. Haig is on an incredible run, as he has worked with the likes of Arizona Zervas, Boldy James, and Lawsy.
It is always a great day when I check Spotify and see that mike. released a new song. The soul-stirring acoustic track "woosah" highlights mike. pouring his heart and soul into his music, and the production plays no small part in creating an immersive experience for the listener. The mastermind behind the music, JP On The Track, has been a key player in mike.'s recent rise, as they are continually pushing the boundaries and exploring new sounds and styles. I'm eagerly looking forward to their future collaborations as they always deliver and offer fresh music.
With her latest release, "Window," Spill Tab has once again captured my heart and soul with her groovy indie pop sound and stunning vocals that showcase her impressive range and depth of emotion. This track serves as living proof of her immense talent and boundless potential. The production is equally impressive, with rumbling basslines, silky smooth guitar riffs, and infectious, bouncy drums that are sure to get you moving. The dynamic duo of Wyatt Bernard and Austin Corona have truly outdone themselves with this latest song, and I can't help but hope that they collaborate on more projects in the near future. Having worked with a roster of talented artists like AG Club, Blu DeTiger, and Jean Dawson, it's clear that Bernard and Corona are true maestros of their craft.
Karri's ethereal vocals are truly out of this world, and his latest release "only u" is a slow acoustic ballad that tugs at the heartstrings, showcasing the depth and range of his talent. Credit to the trio of Zetra, Woodpecker, and thxluke, who have each left their mark in the industry with impressive collaborations, from ericdoa and SoFaygo to Lil Tjay and Young Thug, D. Savage and Vory to Lil Gotit, proving their unrivaled skills in producing and creating standout tracks.
