Do you enjoy Tyler, the Creator? If so, you will enjoy the influence that Rimera takes from his Odd Future energy on the track he just dropped, “ROCK THROWING COMPETITION”.  At OF’s core, it was an anti-establishment movement created in Tyler’s early artist days which bred a lot of influence on the youth, including Rimera, who embraces the nostalgic sounds and visuals of that time.

I first came across Rimera through the album he put out this spring, “JAZZ PUNK,” and the album's name perfectly represents his sounds as he embraces strong, intricate instrumentation in his production. Building on this incredible project, I was excited to see his visuals popping up in my TikTok feed again as his pristine attention to detail continues to shine through. Rimera’s visuals further enforce his overall creative ability with an aesthetic that immediately catches your eye and ear.

Watching his music video for the “ROCK THROWING COMPETITION” single made me feel like we both grew up listening to those OF albums together, and it’s nothing short of inspiring seeing the next wave of Odd Future in full swing. In particular, I love the fact that there is a consistent color palette that reinforces his identity through the vintage reddish pink seen throughout his visuals. Rimera lets you immerse yourself into the world he has created through his art.

The UK based artist claims, “I want all of my albums to sound like the soundtracks to the movies I’m going to make later in life.” He proves that he is more than just simply a recording artist; he is an all-around creative. From clothes to videos to music – Rimera is creating his world through his art forms.

His latest single satisfies your grungy punk craving for a more experimental sound, and further showcases an artist who has created a cult-like fan base through just being himself. I recommend joining in on this momentum because Rimera has so much more to show you with this next project rollout.
