The Braymores are a band we're used to seeing more alternative rock-leaning music from, but on "Scenic Drive" they took a left turn into folk territory.
The track itself still contains the bands cosmic DNA that can be found with the leading guitar lines, but the exploration into a more Oliver Hazard adjacent territory leaves us with a special product. Older songs of theirs like "Past Crimes" made me want to stomp my feet as I sped down the highway, whereas "Scenic Drive" makes me want to slow down and simply enjoy where I'm at today.
It's reflective. It's fresh. And it's exactly the kind of duality you would want to see from your favorite band. I know The Braymores have more in store for the near future, but in the meantime, I'm going to take a walk and enjoy their stellar music of today.
