Up-and-coming Irish artist THEO has just released her latest collaborative track alongside Bristol-based artist Lebo. These two work effortlessly together to bring back iconic ’90s-esque boy-girl heated duets. The track “Under The Table” harnesses the energy at the point of an under-wraps relationship where you’re willing to risk it all.
The production is sultry and seductive drawing influence from Lebo’s signature styles of Afrobeat, Afro swing, and Latin music. You can feel the frustration and tension between these two characterized love interests. THEO’s voice floats divinely over this beat, her vocals are genuinely stand out and instantly captivating. This track truly sets a vibe you can really get into it or pop it on the background and enjoy regardless. I love the storytelling aspect of this tune and how well written the lyrics are written in order to set the desired tone.
It’s no surprise that THEO has recently won the PRS Women Make Music Award. Her talents are extremely evident and only in the developing stages. Slowly building up a catalog of music since 2020 there’s already been so much growth in her production, lyricism, and vocals. I think THEO is really tapping in to her true sound and genre scape with this latest release. “Under The Table” is a gorgeous song from both THEO and Lebo, while I love a collaboration i’m looking forward to the direction THEO takes this year in her solo career.
