Today, Drake and Live Nation announced their collaborative project called "History," which is a new live entertainment venue in Drake’s hometown of Toronto, Canada. Drake stated that, “some of my most memorable shows were playing small rooms like History.” Drake also shared that he “wanted to take those memories and what he learned to create an incredible experience for both the artists and the fans.
”History will be a 2,500-capacity venue and will “offer artists a versatile and intimate destination to perform and connect with fans in Toronto.” In addition, it will host around two hundred concerts and events each year. Michael Rapino, CEO of Live Nation, shared that they “saw an opportunity to bring Toronto a great new venue.” He also thanked Drake for his contribution and for teaming up with Live Nation in order to bring the new venue to life. History will offer attendees an up-close experience with their favorite artists. According to reports, History has now been in developmental stages for about three years now and construction is projected to be completed by the end of this summer. It will include a general admission area and a reserved seating area for all different types of events including concerts, galas, community programs, live shows, and more.
